It allows it to use more memory, to increase stability and to reduce script lag and crashes from memory overload, a problem New Vegas shares with Skyrim where save bloat increases over time (exponentially so with mods) until eventually a given save file is very large for the game to process. Unfortunately, FNV 4G Patcher is a must mod rather than a fun or interesting one. This mod makes sure that game’s script is sufficiently extended letting hundreds of mods to work at the same time.
NVESE does so without modifying the executable files on disk, so there are no permanent side effects. It is a modder’s resource expanding the scripting capabilities of Fallout: New Vegas.
